Our Story

The name KIGO (季語) originates from Japanese haiku poetry, where it refers to words or phrases that capture the essence of a season like cherry blossoms for spring or fireflies for summer. These seasonal references connect people to the natural world and the passage of time.

Rooted in the Japanese philosophy of mono no aware, which cherishes the beauty of life's impermanence, KIGO symbolizes the harmony between nature, time, and the emotions inspired by each fleeting moment.

Our Space

The journey begins on the terrace — a stone path, a dry garden, a pause.

Within, the 44-seat dining room is shaped by Wa — the quiet balance of harmony. At its center, a sushi counter of rare Aji stone anchors the space. Sourced from a single mountain in Kagawa Prefecture, it carries the weight of 40,000 years.

Opposite, a custom work by Eiki Kimura, drawn from the Rimpa tradition, captures the meeting of stillness and motion.

For more intimate moments, a private room offers a serene setting for seasonal omakase — held in quiet reverence for the now.
